As you're leaving Honolulu International Airport take the Interstate H-1 (West) to Waianae Exit . Stay on H-1 (West) until you reach the Interstate H-3 (East) Exit to Kaneohe . Take H-3 over the Koolau mountains to Kaneohe Town. As you are coming down H-3 into Kaneohe you will see the Exit #9 to Kaneohe via SR63 (North) also known as the Likelike Highway . Take SR63 (North) to the SR83 exit also known as the Kahekili Highway exit. Stay on the Kahekili Highway going North towards La'ie. At the town of Kahalu'u Kamehameha Highway merges into the Kahelkili Highway and becomes Kamehameha Highway for the duration of your drive. (There is a local market "The Hygenic Market" and a Seven-Eleven at this intersection).

Keep going North towards La'ie on Kamehameha Highway, you will not have to make any further turns from this point. Just sit back and enjoy the magnificent scenery of the Windward coast and the Ko'olau mountains. You will arrive in the town of Hau'ula in approximately 30-45 minutes depending on traffic. You will know you are approaching Hale Ko'olau when you pass by the beach pavilion in Hau'ula on the makai (ocean side), there is a seven-eleven across the street on the mauka (mountain side). *Please note that there is a similar beach pavilion with a seven-eleven across the street in the town of Ka'a'awa, two towns before Hauula...keep going to Hauula* At the end of the Hau'ula Beach Park homes begin again on the makai. The properties are surrounded by six-foot tall wooden fences with spider lillys growing along the roadside. Guests staying at Hale Ali'i, Pukana La, Lanikeha, Kamai, and Ehu Kai go to 54-231 Kamehameha Hwy . When you enter the driveway find a parking spot (slanted) along the gravel driveway and someone will be out to greet you.
